Position on Artificial Intelligence

In a time when artificial intelligence is clouding everyone's perception about what is real, especially in the world of art/creativity, this deserves its own page!

Writing music has been integral to my personal healing process. Learning how to induce a flow state, how to receive the lyrics and melodies that flood me, how to combine lyrical puzzle pieces into something beautiful - I love every aspect of this process. I love the excitement of finding the perfect word, and the frustration when things just don't fit. I love the wisdom of stepping away from a project and returning with fresh eyes.

I would not receive any of these gifts if I used AI to generate my lyrics.

I would challenge you to do the same - be present for every part of the process, including (especially!) the frustrating parts. The moments of frustration and defeat likely contain the key to your next project, anyway!

By outsourcing the frustrating moments to AI, you are robbing yourself of wisdom gained from the experience. And - you are robbing the world of hearing YOUR voice.

So - if you notice any imperfections in my music, any typos in my writing or if my voice is ever flat, let's chalk that up to my unapologetic humanity.
